Between Dec. 2 and New Year's, the Puget Sound Blood Center needs 900 blood donors a day in order to be ready to meet anticipated holiday needs in the 70 Western Washington hospitals it serves. Donated blood keeps about a month. Platelets and other blood products last just a few days. During the holidays, it's harder to attract enough blood donors to meet community need.
To learn where you can give, call 1-800-398-7888, or visit the Center's website at www.psbc.org. You can simply drop in at a donation center, or call ahead to schedule an appointment.
