DUVALL--The passage of I-695 will not delay the replacement of Novelty Bridge, according to City Administrator Jim Bourasa.
Bourasa said last week that city officials had been concerned that work may not start as planned on the project, due to transportation cutbacks that will take place in the wake of the passage of the car tab initiative.
"King County told us last week that the project is still a 'go,'" said Bourasa. "The county has started with improvements to the intersections at West Snoqualmie Valley Road and Woodinville-Duvall Road and will add traffic lights there and on Stephens Street in December. They will also be doing some work on Avondale."
The road improvements will aid traffic flow while Northeast 124th is closed during the project. The bridge replacement is planned to begin in March of next year and will take six months to complete.
