Youth Symphony Orchestra announces scholarship winners

   The Bellevue Youth Symphony Orchestra has announced the winners of the fourth annual Frances Walton Youth Music Award.

   The scholarship is merit-based and awarded to members of each of the four orchestral levels within the Bellevue Youth Symphony who exemplify ideals of musicianship and service to the orchestra and the community at large. The Scholarship honors Frances Walton who was the founding conductor of the Olympic Youth Symphony (now the Bellevue Youth Symphony Orchestra) 35 years ago and is given by the Thalia Allied Artists for annual tuition to the Bellevue Youth Symphony Orchestra.

   Winning the Entry Level Orchestra Award was Morgan Shannon, cellist, of Woodinville, a student at Bear Creek Elementary.

   The Intermediate Level Orchestra Award winner was Gabriel Tachell, clarinetist, of Carnation, a seventh grader at Tolt Middle School.
