December 6, 1999
December 1, 1999 was the kick-off for Foodball, a competition where rival high schools Cedarcrest in Duvall and Mt. Si in Snoqualmie face off to gather the most non-parishable food items to be donated to the local community centers.
Although this competition is between the two schools, all the students realize the true importance of their efforts. Supportive local businesses in the Duvall and Carnation area have boxes wrapped in holiday paper to receive donated food, and jars for monetary contributions to be used to purchase canned food items.
Other drop-off areas include Riverview Schools: Cedarcrest High School, Tolt Middle School, Cherry Valley Elementary, Stillwater Elementary, and Carnation Elementary. Cedarcrest's Chapter of the National Honors Society is rushing towards the goal of a happy holiday for every Snoqualmie Valley family.
