WHS Winterfest

Woodinville High School will celebrate its annual Winterfest from Dec. 13-17.

Events include a blood drive at the school on Dec. 14. On Dec. 14 and 15, there will be a blanket and warm clothing drive at the Woodinville QFC. Students will spend the night outside the store, keeping warm only with the donations they receive from the community, which will go to the Salvation Army for distribution.

"Adopt-a-Family" will be a week-long event. This year, 17 families have been adopted, and groups and classes at the school will make sure their holiday season is special with gifts, clothing, and food.

Washington State PTA to award scholarships

The Washington State PTA, through its Scholarship Foundation, will award $55,000 in college scholarships for the 2000-2001 academic year. Scholarships of $1,000 will be given to recipients entering four-year, post-secondary institutions. Five hundred dollar scholarships will be awarded for community colleges, voc-tech schools, or other accredited institutions.

The financial need of the applicant shall be the primary consideration. Applications may be obtained from high school counselors or by contacting the Washington State PTA Scholarship Foundation.
