Children to present pageant during worship

The children of Tolt Congregational United Church of Christ will present a Christmas Pageant during the 11 a.m. worship service on Sunday, Dec. 19. The public is invited to attend. Pastor Jeff Spencer says that the biblical story of Jesus' birth will be interspersed with poems, carols, and kids acting out the scenes. The only rehearsal will be at 10 that morning. Children who want to be a part of the pageant are welcome to come to the rehearsal at 10 a.m. Surprises may happen. Last year, Sunday School Superintendent Kaila Russell's 2-year-old daughter, who was playing an angel, recognized the doll in the manger as her own and decided to walk off with it. "We just rolled with it," Spencer said. "The important thing is to hear the story again and to remember what the greatest Christmas gift of all is: Jesus Christ." Tolt Church is located at 4851 Tolt Ave., Carnation.
