Riverview Board votes to place propositions on ballot

CARNATION--The Riverview School Board has voted unanimously to place three propositions on the February 29, 2000 ballot:
- Proposition 1: A two-year replacement Maintenance and Operation Levy. Amounts are $3,600,000 for 2001 and $3,800,000 for 2002. The M & 0 replacement levy makes up approximately 18 percent of the Riverview General Fund Budget. It replaces the existing M & 0 expiring in 2000.
- Proposition 2:A two-year Technology Levy. Amounts are $530,600 for 2001 and $530,600 for 2002. The levy is for upgrades to student computer labs in each school, additional classroom computers, staff training, and district-wide telephone system upgrades.
- Proposition 3: A two-year levy for the District Performing Arts Center at $105,000 for 2001 and $105,000 for 2002. Completion would include stage rigging and draperies, projection screen, stage lighting devices, controls and instruments, and storage. The Center is the only center for community arts performances and is used for educational programs, plays, and concerts for Riverview students.
