Upper Bear Creek Community Council to meet

   The next meeting for the Upper Bear Creek Community Council will be Jan. 11 at the Woodinville Water District Office at 7 p.m.

   Lori Grant of the King County Office of Regional Policy and Planning will present the King County Comp Plan 2000 Update. The Update is the first significant revision of the Plan since its adoption in 1994.

   The Plan advances County Executive Ron Sim's Smart Growth Initiative and its major themes: Livable Communities, Linking Land Use and Transportation, Rural Legacy, and Environmental Protection. In addition, it addresses changes under the Endangered Species Act.

   The comprehensive plan guides land use and development througout the unincorporated portions of King County. Public comment on the public review draft must be received by Jan. 21, 2000, and can be done via e-mail to or presented at any of the public meetings. A copy of the Comp Plan 2000 Update is available at area libraries.
