Book celebrates spirit of Seattle

   A poetry reading and book signing for Seattle Poets and Photographers: A Millennium Reflection will be held at Third Place Books, 17171 Bothell Way NE, Suite A-101 in Lake Forest Park will be held Jan. 30, Feb. 13, and March 19 at 4:30 p.m. The collection of poems and photographs commemorate Seattle at the end of the century. Battle of the Bands

   Two Woodinville bands will take part in the Cedarcrest Battle of the Bands on Saturday, Jan. 29, from 6 p.m. to midnight at Main Street Music in Duvall. The bands will play in a two-stage round-robin format. Scheduled to perform are M0Set, Alkai Diggins, ELan, Rya Mathews, Digital Outcasts, High Society, Misled Youth, Double "O's," Hooligans, Silvertone, and more. Admission is $5 and are available at Main Street Music (425-844-2988) or at Cedarcrest High School (425-788-7116). Proceeds from the event go directly to the music program at Cedarcrest.
