Obituary: LaVerne Mae Bauer

LaVerne Mae Bauer, 71, of Woodinville, passed away Jan. 28 in Kirkland.

LaVerne was born March 3, 1928, in Woodinville. She was an original Woodinville pioneer. She graduated from Bothell High School and lived in the area her whole life.

LaVerne was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed painting ceramics, watching birds at her numerous feeders, traveling, and long car rides. She was an active member in Sky Valley Racing Association.

She renewed her wedding vows after 48 1/2 years. Her favorite activities were visiting with her children and grandchildren. If she wasn't our mother, she would be our best friend. A mother holds her children's hands for awhile, their hearts forever.

She is survived by her husband, Joe E. Bauer; daughters, Denise Hoopes of Monroe; Rhonda Rosenburg of Kingston; son, Randy Bauer of Kingston; granddaughters, Wendy Pierre of Monroe, Ashley Bauer of Kingston; grandsons, Steve Parrick of Kingston, Chase Bauer of Kingston; great-grandchildren, Meghan, Rachael, and Nathan Parrick, Jacob and Austin Pierre; sister, Vera Henning of the Tacoma area; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass was held Feb. 2, at St. Brendan's Catholic Church in Bothell. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The Cancer Lifeline.
