Woodinville High School senior Zach Tuiasosopo (front, center) signed a national letter of intent last week to play football at the University of Washington. The three-year letterman signed the scholarship offer in front of (front, left to right) his father, Manu; his brother, Marques; his sister, Leslie; (back, left to right) Joe Meagher, WHS athletic director; Mark Leander, coach; Mike Bertram, coach; Terry Agnew, head coach; Vicki Puckett, WHS principal; John Heffernan, coach; and Zach's mother, Tina Tuiasosopo.
When asked why he chose the Huskies, Zach answered, "I've always had a dream of playing with my brother (Marques). That is probably one of the most important reasons I picked the Huskies." Marques, a senior next year at the UW, is the starting quarterback for the team.
"I'm very proud of him and his family values and happy he chose Washington," Zach's mother, Tina, said. "It's a bonus to have them all at home." Leslie, who plays volleyball at the UW, will graduate this spring.
Following the signing, UW head coach Rick Neuheisel was called. He was pleased that Zach had signed and encouraged Tina and Manu to "keep them coming to the UW."
