WHS music memberships available

   The Woodinville High School Music Boosters are offering memberships in support of the musicians' fund for WHS music programs. The annual memberships for families, friends, and businesses will benefit the music program in several ways. Funds will be used to cover entry fees to festivals and competitions; provide transportation to and from local and regional events; uniform maintenance and purchases; and the general support program. Under the direction of S. Mark Adamo, instrumental, and Steve Stevens, choral, many of the award-winning ensembles and choral groups perform throughout Woodinville and the community. Northshore teacher wins math award

   Ray Devier, a teacher at Northshore Junior High has been selected as a 1999 winner of an Edyth May Sliffe Award for Distinguised Junior High School Mathematics Teaching. This award, administered by the Mathmatical Association of America, recognizes teachers who have contributed substantially to the success of some of the highest scoring students on the American Junior High Mathematics Examination. It is based on the total performance of Mr. Devier's three top-scoring students over the past three years. Ray Devier retired in 1998 after working in Northshore for 34 years. He returned this year to work on a part-time basis.
