Her efforts in volunteer recruiting and other public relations activities have been instrumental in the success of the organization.
Firefighter Greg Bawden received the Chief's Award for his exemplary service. In a year of new shifting patterns for the career personnel, Greg was instrumental in maintaining a cohesive link between the officers working the different shifts. Greg's work kept many projects on track, so they were successfully completed.
The Board of Commissioners also recognized the entire department with a Commissioners' Citation, for their efforts and sacrifices in maintaining a 24-hour staffing program. The program relies on combining volunteer and career personnel together on night and weekend shifts to round out the crew.
Without the combined efforts of volunteer and career personnel, the district would not be able to provide this vital service. The district combines the skills of six career and 25 volunteer firefighters to provide 24-hour staffing at the station in Duvall.
Volunteer Captain Brent Nordlinder and volunteer Lieutenant Greg Garland were also recognized for their service and dedication to the community. Brent and Greg are dedicated members of the department who have given above and beyond the call of duty over the years.
