Coast to Coast honors Erin Townsend

Erin Townsend, a senior studying marketing management at Cedarcrest High School in Duvall, has been named a winner in the 1999-2000 Tools for Tomorrow All-American Vocational Student Awards (AAVSA) program.

Townsend will receive a personalized award certificate and a $100 gift certificate from Coast to Coast, at 203 Main Street in Duvall. Townsend is one of nearly 1,500 vocational technical students from across the country who were chosen to receive this honor.

"We are pleased to recognize Erin for excellence in vocational technical education," said Francis Cox, from Coast to Coast. "At Coast to Coast, we understand the important role that vocational technical education plays in our community."

Coast to Coast, ServiStar, and True Value retailers promote vocational technical education through Tools for Tomorrow. Since 1992, Tools for Tomorrow has honored nearly 16,000 students with more than $1.85 million in scholarships and awards.

In addition to recognizing students in the AAVSA, participating Coast to Coast, ServiStar, and True Value retailers also provide discounts and donate materials to vocational students, offer internship opportunities, spearhead community service programs, and sponsor Skills USA-VICA's annual National Skills Competition in Kansas City, Missouri.

National Vocational Education Week was February 13-19.
