City Council selects four works to display on Artwalk
Winter Run, a mounted bronze by artist Ross Matteson portraying a steelhead swimming past a submerged maple leaf, is one of four outdoor art works chosen by the Parks Commission and approved by the City Council for display this spring and summer along the Sammamish River trail in Woodinville. The Artwalk display was made possible by a $5,000 donation from Super Jock 'N' Jill of Bothell.
Steffler on state clerks board
WOODINVILLE--Sandra Steffler, Woodinville City Clerk, was elected to the 12-member Board of the Washington Municipal Clerks Association (WMCA) on Thursday, Mar. 16 in Spokane. Steffler won election over a write-in opponent in a 158-1 vote, and will serve a three-year term. Steffler said one of the board's most valuable contributions is in representing the state legislature on behalf of municipal employees from throughout the state.
"I was very happy to be sworn in by my former mentor, Marie O'Connell," said Steffler. "She was Woodinville's first City Clerk, and trained me as an assistant. I look forward to serving the association, my fellow board members, and our president, Reggie Wilson of Prosser, in the coming year."
Inslee to hold pipeline meeting
U.S. Rep. Jay Inslee will host a community meeting on pipeline safety on Saturday, March 25, at 11 a.m. at the Redmond Public Safety Building, 8701 160th Ave. NE in Redmond. The forum is open to residents who live near the pipeline in Woodinville, Bothell, Bellevue, Kirkland, Redmond, and Mill Creek. Representatives from the Office of Pipeline Safety and the Olympic Pipe Line Company will be at the meeting.
Community council, UAC meetings
The Upper Bear Creek Community Council will meet March 28th at the Woodinville Water District office, 17238 NE Woodinville-Duvall Rd., at 7:30 p.m. The Endangered Species Act as it relates to the Bear Creek Basin will be discussed. For information, call 788-5841.
