Free developmental screenings
Childfind, a free developmental screening for children, ages birth to 21 years of age, is provided by Riverview School District on an ongoing basis. Childfind screening provides information for parents about a child's development. An Early Childhood Childfind screening, for children ages birth to 6 years of age, will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 7. Snoqualmie Valley Women's Connection
The Snoqualmie Valley Women's Connection will meet on Saturday, April 1, from 8:30-11:30 a.m. for a potluck breakfast at Cherry Gardens Community Club (intersection of Kelly and Cherry Valley Road), east of Duvall. Wear your most outrageous hat to celebrate April Fool's Day. There will be an idea/planning exchange to ask what those in attendance want in a women's group. Come and share your ideas.
Blues jam at Pumps & Grinds
Come on down to Pumps & Grinds and jam (or just listen) to some fabulous blues on Saturday, April 1. No April Fools here. There is a piano on the premises; no cover. Dinner ready by 6:30 p.m. Pumps & Grinds is located next to Bank of America in Duvall. Call 425-844-2766.
Snoqualmie Watershed Forum
The Snoqualmie Watershed Forum will meet on Wednesday, April 5, at 7 p.m. in the Rose Room of the Duvall Library. The meeting will focus on recommendations for recovery of chinook salmon in the Snohomish Basin and their likely effects in the local Snoqualmie Watershed area. The forum will also briefly discuss the approach for allocating Snoqualmie Watershed King Conservation District Grant funds for projects in 2001. St. Anthony Men's Club breakfast
St. Anthony Men's Club smoked sausage breakfast will be held on Sunday, April 9, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Anthony Church in Carnation. The public is invited. Donations only.
FarmLink help budding farmers
Washington FarmLink is being developed to connect farmers who are planning to retire or transfer their property with people who are interested in owning or leasing places to farm. Parent support groups
A solo parent support group meets every 1st and 3rd Thursday at Duvall Family Center, part of Children's Services of Sno-Valley, 6:30-8 p.m. A "grandparents as parents" support group meets every 2nd and 4th Thursday at Duvall Family Center, from 6:30-8 p.m. To register, call 788-7924. Free onsite childcare provided.
Retriever Club Kids Day
The Whistling Wings Hunting Retriever Club is holding a Kids Day event on the afternoon of Saturday, April 1, near Duvall. Kids of elementary school age are invited to come learn about hunting with retrievers (four different retriever breeds will be there) and have some fun and games.
