Tucson Girls Chorus to perform

   The Tucson Girls Chorus, and the Seattle Children's Chorus and Chamber Singers will perform at Bear Creek United Methodist Church on Saturday, April 8, at 7:30 p.m. The church is located at 16530 Avondale Road NE, Woodinville. The community concert will include music from all periods and styles, including medieval chants, music of the Renaissance, classical repertoire, old American standards, and modern choral pieces. Blood Drive

   The Puget Sound Blood Center will hold a blood drive on Monday, April 10, at Timbercrest Junior High School, 19115 215th Way NE in Woodinville. Hours are 1 to 7 p.m. with a break from 4 to 4:45 p.m. For details, call 206-292-6511.

Barnes & Noble events

   Upcoming events at the Woodinville Barnes & Noble will feature Sherry Rind, author of To Aire is Divine: Further Tips, Tricks, and Tales about Airedale Terriers, discussing "Living With a Lively Dog" on Saturday, April 8, from 1 to 2 p.m. Rind will share training and health tips for all breeds. Navigating by nature

   Weekends in April at the Burke Museum feature special kids' activities to show how Pacific Islanders use "Navigating by Nature" to sail across oceans. Kids make stick maps and learn the details of how sailors can navigate to observing stars and the flight of oceangoing birds from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Materials will be included with museum admission.
