Bothell resident receives scouting award

Longtime Bothell resident Sudene R. Snyder received the Silver Beaver Award at the Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue on March 15.

Most of Snyder's work has been with Bothell pack, troop, team, and crew 651 of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints since June 1992.

The Silver Beaver is one of scouting's highest awards given to adults who have devoted significant amounts of time and service to the young men of their community. Only twelve Silver Beaver awards will be given this year within the Chief Seattle Council, which serves over 65,000 adult and youth participants.

In the awards' banquet program, Mrs. Snyder is listed as "a dedicated trainer and volunteer in Scouting." Sudene has been recognized for her service with the Cub Scouter Award, Spark Plug Award, Orca Award, On My Honor Award, and District Award of Merit. She has been a cub scout day camp director, adult leader with POW WOW, trainer for adult Cub Scout leaders, and a unit commissioner.
