Applicants did not have time to review contract

In the March 20 issue of the Valley View, an e-mail from county SEPA planner Fereshteh Dekhordi to Friends of Cherry Valley was quoted that stated that the quarry applicants were given adequate time to review the EIS contract, but failed to sign it, thereby possibly putting the March 27 scoping hearing in jeopardy.

However, county land use planning supervisor Greg Borba said that indeed there was not enough time given to the applicants to review the contract before the meeting.

"But we decided that, given the time and energy we had put into the meeting, we would go ahead with it," he said.
