Real-life heros wanted

If you know a real-life hero or heroine who saved a life this past year, the Governor's Industrial Safety and Health Advisory Board would like to hear from you.

The board is accepting nominations for the Governor's annual lifesaving awards presentation. All Washington workers covered by the Workers' Compensation System are eligible for nomination.

To be eligible for nomination, the lifesaving effort must have occurred anywhere at anytime between July 1, 1999 and June 30, 2000. The nomination requires that the lifesaver "personally" performed "hands-on" action in saving a life. For law enforcement officers, fire fighters, emergency medical technicians, and other emergency medical professionals, the lifesaving effort must be above and beyond the line of duty.

For a nomination form and additional information, contact the conference coordinator at (360) 902-5415. Applications also may be downloaded from the Department of Labor and Industries' website at http://www.wa.gov/lni/govcon00/awards.htm. The nomination deadline is July 31.
