WOODINVILLE--The first phase of widening 133rd Ave. NE will begin the week of April 24 and last 1-2 days, according to Woodinville Public Works Director Mick Monken.
The first phase of the project will remove a row of overly crowded fir and poplar trees situated in the path of the new City Hall sidewalk. The trees will be replaced by healthier trees with better spacing and closer to City Hall, said Monken. The current trees would have died from root destruction from grading the road surface.
The action was approved by the City Council, as detailed in a Jan. 17 Weekly article. After widening to 28-30 feet, 133rd NE will be a main grid road connector between NE 171st (South Bypass) and NE 175th.
