Obituary: Edward Sinnema

   Edward Sinnema, longtime resident of Carnation, died April 10, 2000 at Swedish Hospital in Seattle at age 77.

   He was born November 2, 1922 in Kalispell, Montana, and came to Washington state at age 2. He was a dairy farmer in the Vincent community and lived in the Snoqualmie Valley for most of his life. He had a never-ending love for the great outdoors and the community in which he lived.

   Mr. Sinnema is survived by his brother, Cor Sinnema (Helen) of Carnation and his sister, Jeannie Simon (Warren) of Monroe; his children, Steve Sinnema of Carnation, Richard Sinnema (Lynn) of Carnation, Judy Melcher (Gary) of Federal Way, and their mother, Bernice Sinnema of Federal Way.

   He is also survived by his longtime companion, Dolores Dempsey, and her children, Cynthia Dempsey-Smeltzer of Pendleton, Oregon, Michael Dempsey (Barbara) of Avoca, Michigan, and Martin Dempsey (Elizabeth) of Santee, California.

   His extended family brought him many grand- and great-grandchildren.

   A memorial service was held at Greens Chapel of the Valley in Redmond on April 14 with a reception at the Vincent Community Club. Remembrances may be made to the Sno-Valley Senior Center, P.O. Box 4152, Carnation, WA 98014.
