Marques Tuiasosopo, 1997 WHS grad, led the Huskies' Gold team to a 41-2 win over the Purples in the University of Washington annual spring game last Saturday.
Tuiasosopo has matured into a strong-armed quarterback to go along with his elusive running agility. In the game, he completed 9 of 12 passes for 228 yards and three touchdowns. His near-perfect performance elated head coach Rick Neuheisel.
Not playing in the Saturday game was WHS grad Pat Conniff, who was recovering from a concussion he suffered in spring drills.
Pat and Marques have played football together since their junior high days. Just as they did in high school, the two have made plans for their senior year at the UW.
"We have a goal to keep the Huskies winning every week to get this team a championship and Rose Bowl berth," Conniff said. "We don't know if football together will be in our post-graduate plans, so we both plan to get our degrees and make the best of our senior season."
Also joining the two will be Tuiasosopo's younger brother, Zach. As a freshman, he will be looked at to give the Huskies help on the defense.
