April 24, 2000
Sandblast gets into full swing on Saturday, July 29, and Sunday, July 30, between noon and 6 p.m. daily at McCormick Park by the Snoqualmie River in Duvall. The theme "Bridges" commemorates not only the significance of bridges to the people of Duvall, but also "bridges" in the broader sense of building bridges between people.
The artwalk in the meadow features the work of local visual artists. Special booths and displays invite kids to participate and to exhibit their art. Strolling musicians and performances on the Sandblast stage keep the crowd entertained throughout both days.
Ralph, Brett, and some of the people who created the centerpiece sand sculpture on Friday will be available to guide festival-goers who want to try their hand at building sand sculpture. Individuals and groups may request a beach plot of their own.
Sandblast 2000 is a free community event. For information, call 425-788-6209.
