Letter carriers hold food drive
The 8th annual National Association of Letter Carriers Food Drive will be held on Saturday, May 13. To participate, local residents may place a donation of non-perishable food near their mailboxes on the morning of May 13. Letter carriers will pick up the donations when they deliver the mail. Food Lifeline and area food banks will then pick up the food from the participating post offices and distribute it to hungry people. This year's goal is to raise 500,000 pounds of food--the equivalent of nearly 400,000 meals. For information, call your local post office.
