Letter carriers hold food drive

   The 8th annual National Association of Letter Carriers Food Drive will be held on Saturday, May 13. To participate, local residents may place a donation of non-perishable food near their mailboxes on the morning of May 13. Letter carriers will pick up the donations when they deliver the mail. Food Lifeline and area food banks will then pick up the food from the participating post offices and distribute it to hungry people. This year's goal is to raise 500,000 pounds of food--the equivalent of nearly 400,000 meals. For information, call your local post office.

Blood drive

   The Puget Sound Blood Center will hold a blood drive on May 12 at Bastyr University's Willows Room, 14500 Juanita Dr. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a break from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m. For information, call 206-292-6511.

Learn to make a corsage for your mother

   Learn how to make a corsage for Mother's Day on Saturday, May 13, from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Bothell Library, 18215 98th Ave. NE. The class, for ages 11-18 (no exceptions), will teach the techniques of making corsages using fresh flowers. Materials will be provided. Register at the information desk. Annual barrel tasting

   Cascade Wine Country will hold its annual barrel tasting at Columbia Winery on Saturday, May 13, from noon to 5 p.m. Participating wineries include Cascade Ridge, Chateau Ste. Michelle, Columbia Winery, DeLille Cellars, Di Stefano Wines, Facelli Winery, Hedges Cellars, and Silver Lake Winery. Admission is $10 per person and includes a souvenir wine glass.
