Five gardens to be featured on local garden tour

The Woodinville Garden Club is hosting a public tour of local gardens on Saturday, July 15, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Advance tickets are $15 each; day-of-tour tickets are $20; children (12 and under) will be admitted for $10. The ticket brochure includes complete directions and descriptions for each garden. Tickets are limited in quantity. Following the tour, Columbia Winery will host a complimentary wine tasting with hors d'oeuvres for all ticket holders.

The "Tour of Gardens 2000" will feature five private gardens located in the Woodinville community. The landscapes include a park-like estate with lifesize bronzes and multiple garden rooms, a Zen-inspired hillside retreat, and woodland refuge for birds and other local wildlife. The work of a resident artist is incorporated into borders and perennial beds surrounding a 135-year-old home and another gardener's artistic talent is displayed among koi ponds, mixed borders, natural vistas and a tree house.

To order tickets by mail, send name, mailing address, phone number, the number of tickets needed, and a check or money order to: Woodinville Garden Club; P.O. Box 1764; Woodinville, WA 98072. Tickets are also available at Molbak's in Woodinville. Tickets are non-refundable. For information, call Leslie Okerman at 425-481-6127.
