Bothell Rec offers Girls' Night Out, garage bands, CPR, flowers

   Girls' Night Out is a new club being formed by the Bothell Parks & Recreation Department. The club is for girls only, ages 12-15. The focus will be on fun, leadership skills, and self-esteem for young women. The club could have speakers, crafts, book clubs, cosmetics, plus more; members will help decide. The first meeting will be held Thursday, May 11th, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Adult Day Care Center (9929 NE 180th, Bothell).

   CPR Class will be offered Thursday, May 11, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Bothell's Downtown Firehouse (10726 Beardslee Blvd.). A two-year certification card will be issued upon class completion. This is a free class; however, pre-registration is required due to limited space availability.

   Garage Band Night: Come and hear new bands as they make their debut out of the garage and onto the stage on Friday, May 12, from 7:30 to 10 p.m. at Anderson School cafeteria (18603 Bothell Way NE, Bothell). Free event for teens ages 13-18.

   Flower Basket Class will teach which plants do best in baskets and how to keep them looking great all summer. This is a hands-on class to be held on Saturday, May 13th, from 10 a.m. to noon at Blyth Park (16950 W. Riverside Dr., Bothell). Class members will build two baskets to take home. Pre-registration is mandatory; cost is $32/person.

   Mother/Daughter Hair Braiding Class will teach the basics of French braiding. It will be held Monday, May 15th, at 6 p.m. at Hair Designers Salon (18107 Bothell Way NE, Bothell). Fee is $12/couple. Pre-registration is required.
