DUVALL--A motorist was airlifted to Harborview and another taken to Evergreen Hospital by aid car following a head-on collision last Wednesday morning on the West Snoqualmie Valley Road.

The accident, which occurred just before 6 a.m., tied up traffic throughout the city of Duvall until almost 8 a.m. Duvall police said it appeared the northbound car crossed the center line.

Fire District 45 Chief Bud Backer said the crash sent one of the vehicles upside down into a ditch. "The crews had to crawl inside the car and pull the driver out the back window," he said.

The drivers, both women, suffered serious injuries.

In an single car accident on Monday evening, May 1, another motorist had to be airlifted out after driving his car into a tree on Stossell Creek Way, Backer said. "The driver suffered severe facial injuries after driving his car into a tree," he said

That accident occurred on Stossell Creek Way east of Duvall. "It's pretty rare that we have two airlifts that close together," he said.
