Register online for Selective Service

Guys--do you need to register for Selective Service? If you have your Social Security number handy, hop onto the Internet and go to the Selective Service website at www.sss.gov.

Registration on the Internet is easy and instantaneous. After you enter your information and click on the "submit" button, your Selective Service number will appear on the screen, and it's done. You'll receive an acknowledgement from Selective Service later by mail, but you can print the information on the screen.

If you are about to turn 18 or are already 18, you need to register. You can also register at any post office, or there may be a Selective Service registrar at your school. Ask at the principal's office or guidance office.
