Substitute teachers need fair compensation

Where in Washington are workers required to have college degrees and special certificates, yet receive no leave to earn them?

No holiday with pay or sick leave are given to these employees. They are paid less than half of what others earn doing nearly the same job. They have no collective bargaining agreements, no health benefits, and no job security, yet are trusted with the welfare, education, and well-being of thousands of children every day.

They are in every town with a school. They are substitute teachers, and it is about time we started giving them fair compensation and professional respect.
