Woodinville wrestlers place at State Tournament

   Woodinville resident and Monroe High School freshman William Ward, of the USA Everett Wrestling Club, placed first in the Cadet Division (16 yrs. and younger) Freestyle Division 121-lb. weight class at the Washington State Tournament in Shelton over the May 13-14 weekend. "I've had a successful season so far; hopefully, I'll place at the Western Regional Tournament," Ward said.

   The 13-State Wrestler Regional Tournament takes place in Pocatello, Idaho, from June 26-28.

   Woodinville High School junior Cody Hromada of the High Flyers Wrestling Club of Kirkland took third place in both the Junior Division (16-1/2 yrs. and older) Freestyle and Greco-Roman 220-lb. weight classes at the Washington State tournament.

   "I didn't expect to do as well as I did, but now I'm preparing to win more matches," Hromada said. He is now a member of the Washington state team and will travel to the Aasics Tiger Turner National Championships in Fargo, North Dakota, from July 22-29.

   Also, Woodinville High sophomore Remy Muresan, of the High Flyers Wrestling Club of Kirkland, placed sixth in the Junior Division, Greco-Roman 132-lb. weight class.
