The Good Doctor is a modern version of short stories by the writer Anton Chekhov, whose day job was as a country doctor in old Russia. In Simon's play, playgoers meet such outlandish characters as a clerk who accidently sneezes on his superior and spends the rest of his life finding new ways to apologize; a man who earns a living as a professional drowning victim; and a woman who terrorizes a bank manager into giving her money.
For this production, SecondStory's theatre has been reconfigured to play the show "in the round." Ticket prices are $16-$18, depending on the night, with group discounts available; students and seniors can save $5 any night but Saturday. Thursday, June 15th, is the "Pay What You Can" night for the show.
The SecondStory Repertory's theatre is located on the second floor of Redmond Town Center, next to Borders Books. For more information or directions, call the box office, or visit www.SecondStoryRep.org.
