Children of all ages in the Wellswood Apartments and the surrounding area were treated to a Bicycle Fair on Saturday, June 10. Bicycles, helmets, bicycle locks, and bike repairs were provided free of charge at the event.

The community project was led by the Foursquare Church of Woodinville to help the Wellswood Apartment residents, part of King County Housing, with safe bicycle education and equipment. The church provided a barbeque for the residents while individuals were fitted for bikes and helmets. The Wellswood community provided face painting.

King County sheriffs assisted in the acquisition of the bikes, and others were donated. Members of the Foursquare Church of Woodinville repaired and gave away the bicycles. Woodinville police provided safety instruction and registered all the bikes.

Woodinville Fire & Life Safety District gave away 29 bicycle helmets and provided proper fitting for the children. The Woodinville Weekly provided the bike locks.
