DUVALL--The Washington State Department of Ecology (DOE) has approved a capacity study done on the city's sewage treatment plant, according to City Engineer Elizabeth Goode.
"This will have some affect on the building moratorium," she said. "Based on the approval we got (last week), the city can request a change in the National Pollution Discharge Permit which will allow us to have some more capacity, once we get the change in the permit."
The City Council will then consider how the change will affect the moratorium, she said.
Due to the sewage treatment plant nearing capacity, Duvall declared an emergency building moratorium last year.
