Bidleman to teach at Carnation Golf Club

   Ron Bidleman, founder of Champion's Golf Performance, will be teaching this summer at the Carnation Golf Club. Bidleman's experience in teaching a broad spectrum of players makes him an ideal candidate to elevate the level of golf instruction in the Pacific Northwest, according to Kathleen D'Amelio, Champion's director of marketing. The Carnation teaching facility, with its grass tees, short game area, multiple putting greens, and renewed commitment to providing one of the best learning areas in the Northwest, is an ideal location for Champion's quality programs, said D'Amelio.

Rummage sale and bazaar

   Lord of Life Lutheran Church will hold a building fund benefit rummage sale and bazaar on Saturday, July 8, from 9-3 at Big Rock Road and Batten Road in Duvall. Follow the signs to the church property. Furniture, toys, clothes, books, riding lawn mower, food, and fun!

Ben Jones Memorial Golf Tournament

   The 2nd annual Ben Jones Golf Tournament will be held again this year at the beautiful Mt. Si Golf Course on July 14, beginning with an 8 a.m. shotgun start. For a $50 entrance fee, which benefits the Sno-Valley Senior Center in Carnation, golfers have a chance to win a new Buick or other great prizes. The fee includes lunch à la golf cart and promises of a great time. Individual golfers and foursomes can sign up by calling Isabel at 425-333-4436. Community businesses can show senior support by sponsoring a hole. This tax-deductible $200 sponsorship fee comes with advertising for the generous business owner. Call 333-4436.

Parent support groups

   A solo parent support group meets every first and third Thursday at Duvall Family Center, part of Children's Services of Sno-Valley, 6:30-8 p.m. Open discussion group focuses on challenges and joys facing single parents. Provides a support network in a safe environment where parents can share and learn from one another. To register, call 425-788-7924. Free onsite childcare available.

   A grandparents-as-parents support group meets every second and fourth Thursday at Duvall Family Center, from 6:30-8 p.m. Open discussion group focuses on challenges and joys of grandparents raising children. Call 788-7924. Free onsite childcare provided.

Work session on senior project

   The Riverview School Board will be holding a work session on the Cedarcrest High School Senior Project on Monday, July 10, at 6:30 p.m. in the district boardroom. The board would like to extend an invitation to all parents, students past and present, and community members to attend the session to gather input on the senior project.
