The camp will explore issues of violence concerning youth today (date rape, domestic violence, gang violence, racism, homophobia, and other harassment concerns). These focus areas will be explored through creative arts--crafts, drama, video, writing, and group activities--with the goal of risk reduction for youth.
The camp will culminate in a Friday interactive presentation of pieces developed during the week. Youth from the Eastside may be invited to perform in their own schools during the 2000-01 school year as community service through peer-to-peer education. No experience necessary. Diversity among camp participants is sought.
Cost is $15 for the week. For more information, call Lisa Cordova or Sheri Davis at Youth Eastside Services at (425) 747-4937.
