Youth talent needed

   The 4th Annual Community Youth Talent Show needs youth ages 6-17 to share their talents on Friday, July 28, at 7 p.m. at the Cedarcrest High School Theater in Duvall. Co-sponsored by Lower Valley Youth Programs, Friends of Youth, King County Community Organizing Program, and Sandblast '00 Summer Arts Festival. Admission is free. All participants are winners.

Quintet at Pumps & Grinds

   Pumps & Grinds Coffeehouse, 15614 Main St. NE, Duvall, offers live entertainment 7:30-10 p.m. Saturdays. On July 22, Take Five quintet, jazz standards and danceable swing. Call 844-2766.

Tolt reunion picnic

   The Tolt High School reunion picnic is Sunday, Aug. 6, from 12-4 p.m. Call Isabel at 333-4436.

Summer day camp

   Three weekly summer day camp sessions (July 24 to Aug. 10) for children ages 3-6 will be held at Duvall Family Center (corner of SR-203 and Woodinville-Duvall Road). Sessions meet from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for three days. Bring a sack lunch that does not need refrigeration. Cost is $40 per session. Children learn arts and crafts, music, singing, and science. Wastemobile to visit Carnation

   The Environmental Protection Agency's recent tightening of regulations of the widely used insecticide cholorpyrifos, sold as Dursban, has prompted King County to remind citizens to turn all household hazardous waste in to the Wastemobile rather than putting it in the garbage or down the drain. The King County Household Hazardous Wastemobile will be at Tolt Middle School from 10-5 on July 28-30 and August 4-6. The Wastemobile is available for free disposal of a variety of household products.

Bamboo Society meeting

   The Pacific Northwest Chapter of the American Bamboo Society's July meeting will be hosted by Boxhill Farm on Saturday, July 22, at 11 a.m. Everyone is welcome.
