CARNATION--Every six months, the T.A.F.T. (Teens Acting for Tomorrow) Youth Council for Carnation and Duvall honors a different local business for "superior service to youth."

Area teens visit businesses over a period of time to see how they are treated as customers, said Nikki Canady, T.A.F.T. president. Canady is a senior at Cedarcrest High School and a student at BCC.

On July 18, the group honored Carnation Ixtapa with their "Youth Friendly Business Award."

"Teens were treated with respect at Ixtapa and not rushed out," said Canady, who presented the plaque along with secretary Patty McGee, a Cedarcrest junior.

"I was both pleased and honored," said Ixtapa manager and owner Bill Fratzke.
