Forum will discuss permit process
A second forum between Woodinville Chamber of Commerce members, local businesses and City staff to discuss ways to improve the City's various permit processes will be held in the Council Chambers, located behind Woodinville City Hall, 13203 NE 175th Street, on Thursday, Aug. 10 from 3 to 4 p.m.
Local businesses and developers who have current or future applications with the City are invited to discuss the environmental review process and the application of the city's Interim Design Principals.
Certain types of development require an environmental review as stipulated by the State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA). In this review the Planning and Community Development Department considers environmental impacts, such as storm water runoff and protection and traffic impacts caused by the new development. Design Principals encompasses the City's review of aesthetics of new development and a means to enhance the City's vision to preserve the northwest woodland character.
This forum is the second of five meetings scheduled. "The first meeting addressed the Technical Review Committee process which resulted in suggestions from several of our customers on what will be expected as they apply for development permits," notes permit center director Dean McKee.
