City announces vacancy on lodging tax/tourism advisory committee
The City of Bothell has an opportunity for its citizens to become more involved with their community. It is recruiting for one position on its Lodging Tax/Tourism Advisory Committee (LTTAC). This particular committee reviews and advises City Council on ways to distribute grant funds it receives from teh hotel and tourism sector in Bothell.
The Lodging Tax/Tourism Advisory Committe has one position open with a term ending on March 31, 2002.
This vacancy is for an eligible applicant who is a representative of a business that is required to collect tax under Revised Code of Washington (RCW), Chapter 67.28, which increased the lodging tax rate in 1998. The Committee consists of seven members who include business community members, one elected City official, citizens appointed by the City Council, and persons who are involved with activities that are supported or funded by RCW, Chapter 67.28. The Committee meets approximately twice a month for about four months.
All board positions offer educational and fulfilling opportunities to become involved in city government. Applications for the Lodging Tax/Tourism Advisory Committee are currently being accepted in the City Clerk's Office at City Hall, through August 31st by 5:00 p.m. The City Council will conduct interviews and make an appointment to the LTTAC on Monday, September 18th at its Council meeting.
