Re: Quadrant/Novelty Hill project
I have a question that no one has been able to reasonably answer for me and I wonder if it has occurred to anyone else.
Why is it that Weyerhaeuser can take the tax breaks of land for timber and then at their own choosing transfer it over in their company, to their development group, Quadrant Corporation?
By what right are they then making profit on land for which a whole different tax base has been used and developing these monster developments?
Where do they then reimburse the state for back taxes on land that is now commercial?
If you or I did this, we would be hit with so many criteria to fit that it wouldn't be funny.
Weyerhaeuser does this and not an eye is blinked.
It truly scares me at how deep their pockets must go in order to get by with so much and to get so many public officials to go with whatever they want.
Just a thought for the day.....
