Free workshop set for home buyers

The Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle together with Chase Manhatten Mortgage Corporation will sponsor a free workshop entitled "Why Rent When You Can Own" your home. The seminar will provide information on various "No to Low" down payment programs.
   Upon completion of this workshop, each participant will receive a certficate issued by the "Washington State Housing Finance Commission".
   The seminar is designed to show renters how they can afford to buy a home.
   The free workshop will lead participants through the process of assessing their ability to secure financing and determining exactly how much they can afford to spend on a home. Workshop participants will learn valuable information about the settlement process, traditional and non-traditional financing and qualifying for a loan. Information on how to improve your credit rating, along with a free credit, will be available.
   The workshop will be held on August 26 from 10:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. in the Board Room of the Urban League located at 105 14th Ave., Seattle.
