Watermelon, Wine, and Ale Festival set for Labor Day weekend

The Snoqualmie Valley Watermelon, Wine, and Ale Festival will be held Labor Day weekend, Sept. 2, 3, and 4, at Remlinger Farms Family Park, just outside Carnation. Hours are 11 a.m.-7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. on Monday.

Remlinger Farms is hosting a weekend of live entertainment on three stages, a wine/ale tasting garden featuring the best of Northwest wineries and breweries, and something for the kids everywhere all the time.

Events for children include carnival rides, the steam train and petting zoo, and shows by Tim Noah and "Children of the Revolution" and performances by the farm's Marionette Theater.

For adults in the wine/ale garden, musical groups Two Scoops Combo, Filé Gumbo Zydeco, and Guarneri Underground will play. Other groups, including Los Orchids with the Valley Girrrls, the Dambreakers with the Valley Girrrls, and Clinton Fearon and the Boogie Brown Reggae Band, will entertain on the main stage.

Advance tickets for individual days are available by mailing $13 per adult, $7 per child, or $28 per couple to Remlinger Farms; P.O. Box 177; Carnation, WA 98014 before Aug. 20. Day of show tickets will be priced at $15 adults, $10 kids 2-21, $28 couples.

A portion of the proceeds from this year's festival will go to the Carnation Chamber of Commerce 4th of July Committee. More information is available from Remlinger Farms at 425-333-4135.
