Duvall Planning Commission opening

   The city of Duvall is seeking applicants for Position No. 3 of the planning commission which expires December 31, 2000. Members must be residents of the city or live within the Duvall planning area. The commission meets on the first and third Thursday of every month with the possibility of additional special meetings as required. Commissioners are paid $25 per meeting. Applications are available at City Hall and are due by Sept. 11. For questions, call Doreen Wise at 788-2779.

Spirit seminar in Duvall

   Author Lauri Cloud presents a free life-changing seminar, "Power-Up Your Spirit," Aug. 26, 7-8:30 p.m., in the Rose Room of the Duvall Library. Formerly an accountant, Cloud is now on a self-described path of following her true purpose. In her book, Exercises for the Soul, Book 1, Cloud provides readers with a grassroots awareness of the power within to make significant changes. Cloud will discuss how to create more financial wealth, success, love, joy, and bliss through analzying your connection to self, family, friends, and workplace. Tryouts for youth baseball

   Tryouts for the Valley Baseball Association will be held at King County's Mariner Baseball Field in Carnation on Sunday, Sept. 10, from 3-6 p.m., and on Sunday, Sept. 17, from 3-6 p.m. Interested league-age 14-year-olds for the year 2001 baseball season should provide their name, address, telephone number, and birthdate to Sbroui3044@aol.com (e-mail) or fax them to 425-333-5059.
