Children's art show at Pumps & Grinds
Dogs and flowers, a panda, a dancer and other favorite subjects of youth adorn the walls of Pumps & Grinds Coffee and Consignment at 15614 Main St. NE, Duvall.
A children's art show, which opened August 25, features several dozen paintings by children ages five to 18. The works include numerous animals, bright colors and surprising realism.
Artist and teacher Dianne Brudnicki, a clothing designer and maker, began the Dianne B. Artworks Academy in her Duvall living room because of cutbacks in school arts programs. She has since opened a studio and is teaching at a Redmond co-op.
The Pumps & Grinds show and other displays at local libraries constitute the only recital possible for budding artists, she says.
"It's an opportunity to display their work and recognize their peers," she says. "And if the public purchases some, great."
Prices range from $12 to $40. Call 425-788-2766.
