Bothell holds free fall cleanup event

The City of Bothell Public Works Department is holding a free Fall Cleanup Event on Saturday, Sept. 16th at Skyview Junior High School (located at 21404 35th Avenue SE in Bothell).
The event is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. During the event, the Sno/King Waste Management crew will take all collected materials to the Renton Transfer Station for disposal.
"Our Spring Cleanup Event last May was so successful that we felt September would be a good time to hold another one," said Fall Cleanup Coordinator Peggy Varga, Bothell Public Works. "We encourage any and all community members to clean out their homes and yards and utilize this great resource."
   Participants are invited to bring:
Yard waste, garden clippings, small brush and branches, (eight inches in diameter or less), small stumps and clean wood.
Stoves, dishwashers, washers, dryers, auto parts, radiators, lawn furniture, televisions, bicycles, lawn mowers, (with gas emptied), scrap pipe, construction debris and metals.
Treated wood, lumber, broken furniture and any other non-reusable items less than eight feet in length.
   Do not bring:
Barbed wire or chain link fencing.
Paint, pesticides, solvents, thinners, cleaning products, oil, paint cans, barrels, drums, antifreeze, batteries or tires.
Refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners or anything that contains chemicals.
Any items longer than eight feet.
At the Spring Cleanup Event in May, Bothell Public Works counted 357 vehicles unloading an estimated 85 tons of yard waste, household appliances, auto parts, and other miscellaneous materials.
