Northshore SAT scores climb
BOTHELL -- While SAT scores for the state and the nation have remained fairly stable for the past five years, those of the Northshore School District have continued to climb. The most recent results show the average math score for Northshore students was 547, up 17 points from the previous year. The average verbal score was 559, up ten points from 1999. Over the past five years, Northshore's math score has risen 3.9 percent; the verbal score has climbed 3.6 percent.
"The trend is great. You can't argue with that. Clearly the hard work of our teachers and the commitment of our students to learn is paying off," said Karen Forys, superintendent.
Approximately 64 percent of Northshore's graduating seniors took the SAT exam.
