Two cougars killed near Stillwater
A Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife agent has confirmed reports that a resident living near Stillwater shot and killed two cougars about two weeks ago. Cougars have been implicated in several recent sheep and goat killings in the Duvall area.
The state agent said the killing of the cougars was legal. One cougar was an older female, about seven years old, and the other a young male, about 14 months old, probably her offspring, she said.
The agent said it is not 100 percent certain the pair are the culprits, but there have been no further reports of farm animals killed.
