New ice skating programs at the Kingsgate Ice Arena

Woodinville Parks & Recreation has recently established a cooperative agreement with the Sno-King Hockey Association to open up ice time to the public for skating classes, family skating sessions, and special events for the public.
   Programs offered this fall are:
   Parent & Me Learn to Skate programs will begin October 3rd and will be offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays. These learn to skate programs offering skating instruction to children to children (3-6 year olds) and their parent. Cost is $75 (includes skate rental.) Register through Woodinville Parks & Rec. at 425-398-9327.
   When school is out in the Northshore School District, children can enjoy fun activities and skating at the Kingsgate Arena.
   Halloween Skate (3rd - 6th graders) will be offered on October 27th from 12:30 - 3:00 p.m.
   This holiday event offers skating, games, crafts, and a snack. Cost is $10/person.
   Buses will pick up children at Wellington Elementary at 11:45 a.m. and at City Hall at 12:15p.m. or parents can bring children straight to the ice rink. Pre-registration is required. No walk in registration allowed at the rink.
   On December 1st Woodinville Teens will take to the ice for free skating, skating instruction, music and lots of fun.
   Lunch will be provided. Buses will pick up teens at Leota Jr. High (11a.m.) and Northshore Jr. High (11:20 a.m.) or pre-registered teen can check in at the rink.
   Pre-registration is required. No walk-ins allowed at the rink.
   Family Skate Sessions will be offered from September through March on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
   Skaters under 10 years old must skate with an adult. Costs range from $5-$6 depending on age. Skate rental is available for $1.00 with paid admission.
   Payment is handled on a walk-in basis at the Kingsgate arena. No registration is required.
   Santa Skate is a popular holiday event that occurs during the kick off weekend of the Woodinville Light Festival on December 10th from 11:10 a.m.-12:25 p.m.
   This event is free to the public by bringing a donation of non-perishable food to the event for our local multi-service center.
   Free ice skate rentals are available. Santa Skate offers skating, live holiday music, and of course a rare chance to see Santa skate.
   The Kingsgate Arena is located just outside the City of Woodinville at 14326 124th Ave. NE.
