More than $144,000 raised
More than $144,000 was raised at the fifth annual Women for Women's Health Pledge Luncheon hosted by the Evergreen Healthcare Foundation and Overlake Hospital Medical Center auxiliaries.
The money benefits the breast health programs offered by Evergreen Healthcare, Overlake Hospital Medical Center and other community organizations.
More than 1,300 people attended the event Tuesday, Oct. 3 at Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue.
The luncheon featured keynote speaker Richard Karn.
Other speakers included Coach Lin Dunn of the WNBA's Seattle Storm; Dr. Fran Lewis, a behavioral scientist and oncology clinical nurse at the University of Washington; and co-chairs Gates-Armintrout and Locke.
These contributions aid in the funding for mammograms and provide health care for both low-income women and women without adequate health insurance who are in the active stages of breast cancer.
